Writing from 1978 onwards

In 1978 I was included in the board of Editors for the in house magazine of the Civil Service Probationers LBSNAA, Mussoorie, after my field training from 1976 to 1978. I had also been elected to the Officer’s Club and Society for Spiritual and Moral values.

I do not remember whether I wrote anything other than notes on the file and reports during my stay in Calcutta (Kolkatta) from November 1978 to May 1983.

Later in Meerut I contributed articles to the Magazine published by the department.
The article was a travelogue on the journeys in Himachal i.e. Mandi, Kulu, Manali, Rohtang Pass, Khoksar, Keylong, Jispa (Lahaul and Spiti) and back via Shimla as a Probationer in the LBSNAA, Mussoorie.

I contributed articles, photographs and News Reports to the Departmental magazine ICE published from Delhi when I was in Jaipur during 1986 to 1991, Rajkot during 1991 to 1995, Kolhapur (1995 to 1998), Pune (1998 to 2002) and Trivandrum (2002 to).

I contributed an article titled “My impressions of South Maharashtra”in the souvenir issued on the occasion of the All India Central Revenue Cultural Festival, Pune, Maharashtra, India, Asia.

During my stay in Rajkot, Gujerat, my following two articles appeared in The Times of India, Ahmedabad in 1991: -

1. Birds in my Garden
2. The Benevolent Sahijana

During my stay in Pune the following article was published in The Pune Times (Times of India): -
“Close encounters with a cyclone”.
Another article on Traffic was published in the Indian Express, Pune.
A letter on the need for preserving pollution free and conserved environment in Pune was also published.
An article on Cricket was published in the Pune Customs & Central Excise Commissionerate Departmental magazine.
In Trivandrum a number of articles have been published on the Internet site www.keralaonline.com
